Blundell's Golf Day 27th August 2015
We held this year’s Charity Golf Day a little up country to try and encourage some of our Blundell’s community to join us who live around the M4 corridor. We were delighted that we had a good turnout of teams and that our regular supporters based in Devon also came along to participate. Competition as ever was fierce, but enjoyable with a beautiful day (bar the one torrential downpour) which sent all undercover whilst it passed over.
With all teams equipped with a buggy, we had a two tee start after competitors enjoyed a quick Bacon Roll to see them on their way. After a gruelling five-hour round for the majority, all deserved a restorative drink followed by a three course meal before the raffle and award ceremony. We are very grateful to our sponsors, National West Chem and Westford Mechanical Ltd.
We are very grateful to all those who participated and thank you to our Chairman of Governors, Cedric Clapp, who awarded all the day’s prizes. We hope to see you all again next year.
Results were as follows:
Best Team – Old Blundellian team Thomas Dorse, William and Adam Gingell and their guest Spencer Popham
Best Man – Current Parent Ben Winzer

Best Supporter – Jeff Dealtrey
Best Current Parent – Richard Provis
Best Current/Former Staff – Peter Klinkenberg

Balliol College Dinner 1st May 2015
On Friday 1st May we celebrated the 400th anniversary of a definitive agreement which was put in place in 1615 for pupils of Blundell’s School to attend Balliol College, at our Blundell’s Community Balliol College Dinner. A special thanks to Professor Nick Dewey (School House 1944-50) for his advice and assistance in coordinating the Dinner, and to our two delightful speakers Cedric Clapp (Petergate 1960-65, Chairman of the Governors) and Jessica Mannix (Gorton House 1981-83, Current Governor) for such insightful speeches, reaffirming the strong connection between Balliol and Blundell’s. Thank you so much to all those who supported this event.
