New Blundell's Archive Newsletter - The Archivium!

"I have recently taken over the role of Archivist alongside my teaching role in the History Department, from longstanding member of staff and award-winning local historian Mike Sampson, who has lovingly spent the past 16 years maintaining and expanding the School’s collection. Mike Sampson, who many of you will know from the OB Day Exhibition and OB lunches, stepped down from the post in December and we wish him a very restful retirement. The purpose of this newsletter is to share with you what goes on in the Archives here, and to showcase some of our existing material as well as new acquisitions which may be of interest to the School Community. I hope you enjoy this newsletter - if you have any queries or questions about the Archive please be in touch!"

Staff Member and Now Author!

Congratulations to staff member Dr Davina Quinlivan-Brewer for writing her debut book. Davina has been at Blundell’s since September 2018 and works in the English Department.

Her book, ‘Shalimar: A Story of Place and Migration’, weaves in and out of time and place in order to tell the story of her Anglo-Asian heritage, set against her 'minor' migration across seven moves in England, ending in Devon.

Davina speaks about her book (24 March, Devon):

Blundell's Prayer Chain

For many years a group of parents and other Blundell’s supporters have met each term to pray for our children. During lockdown we experimented with creating a ‘prayer chain’ where anyone interested could pick a time slot and pray on their own at home. We are doing the same again over the course of this week and anyone interested in praying for the Blundell’s community is invited to join in wherever they are. Commit to a time slot/s using the link below and you will be sent some suggested prayer ideas for your independent prayers during this time. Time slots are available over the course of the week 6th-13th March (night or day).
