We would like to thank all of those who support & help us to keep Blundell’s the thriving School that it is today. The support from Old Blundellians, Parents - both past and present, staff and well-wishers are a tremendous help and we can’t thank them enough. Donations, volunteering time, prizes or career mentoring and advice, it all helps to strengthen the Blundell’s foundation.

John Beale

John BealeA big thank you to John Beale (M 1956-61) who has recently supported the first additional bursary within the ‘Peter Blundell Foundation Award provision’ for an award which will be called the ‘Beale Family’ Scholar. The Beale family have been closely associated with Blundell’s across three generations.

Since its foundation in 1604, Blundell’s has influenced the lives of a great number of pupils. It has been consistently praised for its outstanding teaching within a caring and supportive environment which, when combined with excellent facilities, has led pupils from extremely varied backgrounds to achieve their full potential. The School has always prided itself on having its heart based on a community ethos, and it attracts children from a diversity of backgrounds.

The Peter Blundell Foundation Award is an extension of the Governors desires to extend the number of Foundation Awards, increasing the number of pupils who can attend the School who might not ordinarily have been able to do so because of financial constraints. The School is immensely richer in character because of this scheme. To be able to offer to all an opportunity to benefit from the deep rooted principles, which are at the heart of the School is something rather special. There is nothing new here, but it would be wonderful to continue the development in this area.
