Obituary John Michael Bennett Clarke

JOHN MICHAEL BENNETT CLARKE, 12/6/1932 - 22/5/2018

John was born in Leeds Yorkshire in 1932, the family moved to Hampstead Garden Suburb about 4 years later.

John had a happy childhood with five year older sister Mary. He went to boarding school at a young age to Hillsbrow Preparatory school in Red Hill but as the war intensified this school was evacuated to The Kestrels in Devon and when the war finished the boys became students at Blundell's. (John was booked to go to Haileybury College after Hillsbrow.) John loved sports and was in the firsts for cricket, rugby and cross-country, he also achieved high marks academically earning an entry to Cambridge which he turned down.

John pursued various occupations including fashion photography, accounting, computer programming and finally building. John and his first wife had six children, he met his second wife Laraine in 1975 and they have been inseparable for 42 years and have travelled the world and had some wonderful amazing adventures.

John was a devoted husband and father and a very proud grandfather to 18 and great grandfather to one, John had a very full life and will live on in the hearts of family and friends.
