Obituary Russell Martin French
Russell passed away on 27th April 2020, aged 37.
Russell had a genetic condition, Schwannomatosis and he carried the most serious strain which can develop into malignancy which tragically is what happened. In January 2021 a fund-raising campaign run by our family and friends raised over £20,000 for St Luke’s Hospice, Plymouth who cared for Russell so wonderfully in the few weeks before he was called away. Russell would have been 38 in January that year and the fund-raiser was called “Raise for Russ” - run/walk 38 miles in the month of January in memory of Russell. It was a very remarkable amount to achieve and testament to how loved he was by so many people whose lives he touched. He leaves behind a wife and 3 young daughters.
