Obituary Richard Grahame Lloyd

Mr Richard Grahame Lloyd (OH 1955-1959) – passed away on 19th December 2007, having struggled against cancer for a number of years.

Michael Goss (OH 1952-57) sent these words:

Richard was a lovely man and leaves Ruth and his two daughters.

After Blundell's, Richard went to Sidney Sussex (economics) and then worked for the Economist Intelligence Unit Morgan Grenfell, and more recently as a freelance financial guru, the World Bank and a variety of governments.

He was extremely involved with Russian privatisations as well as government schemes in Kenya and Tanzania, dealing with presidents, etc!

Inevitably his activities were constrained during the last 2-3 years, but he was working until a few months ago.

Richard’s brother David, also an OB, is professor of Animal Dermatology at the R.N.C.

Richard’s great love was Africa and he visited most of the game areas in East Africa, enjoying the camping, the birdlife and animals and just being in the bush.

He was a very rounded and decent bloke, a proper Blundellian.
