Obituary James "Olly" Nugent
We are very sorry to announce the sudden death of James Nugent in his sleep during the night of January 15th - 16th, 2022, aged 65. It is understood that he died of blood clots.
After leaving school James went straight to London where he found work at Lloyds Insurance. He went on to have a very successful career as a director of one of the leading syndicates. In 1995 he married Saffron and together they had six children, Toby, Fergus, Calypso, Hamish, Rory and Harry, all of whom survive him as do both his parents and brother, Paul (OH 1972-1976).
A funeral service was held in the Sussex village of Lurgashall where the family lived, with almost 300 people in attendance. His brother and Best Man gave the eulogies. A Memorial Service is also being arranged in London on April 7th.
James was widely loved and known for his kindness, humour, hard work and generosity. In his latter years he became very involved in his local community and church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
